Shorter chapters, great review summary, but includes morally liberal stuff

BUT I didn''t give it five stars because it seems to repeat information all over the place, so makes it hard to focus on what you need to memorize. Best to read the review summary at end (though some professors will intentionally comb through the chapters and find little details and test you on those). AND the textbook has usual morally liberal advice on issues a more morally conservative would disagree with (like most mental health textbooks today)--so in this sense I don''t recommend this would be good for a religious private school. Just saying.

It''s hard to rate a text book in stars - I say I love it because I''m learning a lot from it and it''s refreshing my memory from my last chemical dependency class back in the late 90''s. That said this book was in good shape, no markings or highlighting, although now there is. The cover was slightly curled but it was not bothersome and it was in good, used condition. Also much cheaper, and therefor more affordable than my college bookstore.

This is your stereotypical college required textbook they "update" every year so they can charge a couple hundred dollars from broke college students. The book is trash, it has no information that can''t be found on Google or other search engines for free. Many of the concepts are outdated, bad grammar, bad formatting, It goes in length about drug use from the 1960''s and 1970''s. The case studies read like they were made up by someone working in Nancy Reagan''s 1980''s D.A.R.E. program. Someone needs to put this thing on a website for free. I only paid $40 for this garbage and I still feel ripped off.
